Steam iron handle having piston cylinder - to draw water from tank and give a forward spray jet

The handle of a steam iron has a piston cylinder to draw up water from the water tank and pass it out through a forward spray jet. The cylinder is formed as an integral section of >=1 part of the hand grip of the iron. The upper side incorporates a lid as a section over the cylinder which can be pressed down. The lower side of the cylinder passes into a valve cylinder, with its geometrical axis lying parallel to the cylinder axis, and its lower side partially closed by compressible membranes. The design simplifies the assembly of the iron, and allows the hand grip to be fitted with a spray pump or not, as required, in a cheaper unit.
