<p>Methane gas generator comprises a combination of: (a) an airtight sealed tank partially filled with sewage, having a heating element for controlling the temp. of the sewage, so as to promote the formation of gas, extending across the bottom of the tank, (b) a pressure compensator over an opening in the tank top, formed by an elastic rubber cover, which, when the gas pressure is too high stretches outwards and increases the available vol., (c) a safety valve, adjusted suitably to the gas pressure, and a line leading to consumption points, which a shut-off valve, meter and pressure gauge, (d) a pipe with a valve connected to the tank for draining old sewage and feeding in new, (e) >=1 drain for condensate. The gas line leads to a burner for heating the element in the tank. The heating element is formed by a tube positioned above the tank bottom and the heaing medium may be water or air. The elastic rubber cover inflatable by gas presure, may form the cover of the tank itself and be clamped at its edge to the edge of the tank wall. A weight determining the gas pressure is formed by a box resting on the elastic rubber membrane and filled more or less with sand. Eliminates the need for skilled supervision, is inexpensive and reliable in operation.</p> |
