Panels and mouldings are made by hot pressing a material consisting of a mixt. of a lignocellulose material and a binder comprising polyisocyanate and an amino resin adhesive in a wt. ratio of 1:30-1:4, (1:11). The amino resin is pref. a urea-foraldehyde resin e.g. with a U/F ratio of 1:1.6. Suitable lignocellulosic materials are e.g. wood chips, straw, cork, bark, sawdust, bagasses, flax, dried grass, nut shells, etc., opt. reinforced with glass fibres, asbestos, etc. The process is esp-useful in the production of chipboard panels having higher tensile strength than those made using polyisocyante or amino resin binders alone.
|
