<p>A filter element for a pass-through filter consists of a zigzag-shaped filter paper insert and a central tube, held together by two end caps in an outer casing. The central tube is connected to the end caps, which fit around the filter insert with their turned-down rims, by a wedging action or by a bayonet coupling. The filter insert can now be cleaned several times before it is discarded; it can be folded open and the roots of the corrugations can be cleaned. The joint with the end caps yields enough to eliminate crinkling of the insert folds.</p> |
