The centrifugal weight system is used in a centrifugal force speed regulator for IC engines. The centrifugal weights are pivoted on levers on a shaft connected to drive shaft and the engine speed regulating element is actuated by these weights. The friction force reducing the response speed is eliminated in this system. Each centrifugal weight (4) has two parts (41, 42) and a connecting arm (43) between these two parts. The straight line connecting the centres of gravity of both weight parts has a pivot (5). The connecting arm is arranged so that the weight parts (41, 42) are situated on both sides of the driving shaft (1). The centrifugal force generated causes axial displacement of the output member (6).
