A three-position multiway valve has a body 10 with a bore 11 in which slides a spool 12, a high pressure inlet 13 intersecting the bore 11 intermediate its ends. Fluid outlets 14, 15 which intersect the bore 11 on either side of the inlet 13, open to the body exterior through a single port; a passage 16 connects the inlet 13 with a U-shaped passage, via a check valve 17, the arms 18, 19, of which passage intersect the bore. Working ports 20, 21, which lead to the body exterior and run parallel to the inlet 13 and outlets 14, 15, intersect the bore 11 between arms 18, 19 and outlets 14, 15. The two outer ends of the bore 11 are intersected by exhaust grooves 22, 23 which are provided to protect the seals at the bore ends. The valve is one of a bank and outlets 14, 15, inlet 13 and exhaust grooves 22, 23 are connected to adjacent valves. The spool 12 incorporates reduced parts 24- 27 whereby control of fluid to and from ports 20, 21 is effected; the spool is shown in the neutral position wherein all the fluid entering the inlet 13 is directed to the next valve via outlets 14, 15 to which latter is also directed the exhaust fluid when the valve is in either of its operative positions. |
