The lifting rod has a hollow shaft with female thread, in which engages a screw spindle which can be turned via a cone drive by means of a hand crank which is in the reach of the tractor driver. The head crank (11) sits on a shaft which consists of two telescopic parts (9,10) and is supported on a ball joint (12,13) which is fixed to the tractor close to the hand crank. The shaft is coupled with the input shaft (7) of the one cone drive (5,6) via cross joint (8). The shaft of the hand crank consists of a multi-edge rod (1) and a circular tube drawn over part of its length. The ball body (12) of the ball joint (12,13) is fixed to the circular tube (9).
