<p>The variable stroke power cylinder is for use on machine tools with periodic operating cycles. The power cylinder (1) has a pot-shaped lining (4), the open end of which can be slidingly adjusted along the circular gap (7) created by the bore of cylinder (1) and a central core also accommodating the piston rod (20) of the piston (5), with the other piston rod (6) operating through an extended neck (41) of the lining. The neck has a plain outside surface on which the inner surface of a circular nut (10) is seated. The outside surface of the nut is provided with a thread operating in a corresponding tapping inside the cylinder. Faces of the nut (10) are fitted between the shoulder of the lining bottom and the face of the collar. By operating the nut, the distance between the lining bottom and far side face of piston varies, so that the stroke is altered.</p> |
