The system for bordering the running track on a sports field involves a boundary made up from demountable pieces, and is designed to be elastic, easily removed and impervious to rainwater when sited between field and track at the same level, and with no protruding fixed anchor elements. Each piece(1) comprises an elastic plastic batten(2) rounded off at the top, with plastic bearing blocks(5) at set interval underneath. Two of these, at least, have a downward protruding insertion lug(6) for insertion into recesses in a peripheral drainage gutter. An open end of the batten can be horizontally connected to the preceding one on a bearing block, and form-locked downwards. The blocks and lugs may be more elastic than the battens.
