The expanding mechanism secures tubular winding sleeves on spindles whose external diameter is less than the sleeve internal diameter. Hoses are inserted in lengthwise grooves in the spindle and inflated so as to push components above them outwards against the sleeve. The compressed-air hose has a nipple with a head inside the hose and a pipe connected to it, the nipple head being flat, with an area which is a multiple of that of the pipe. A drilling (13) in the nipple head forms an extension of the pipe axis (12) and runs at right angles to the head surface (11), on which there are bosses formed (14), extending towards the inside of the hose. These bosses can form channels emanating from the inlet. The pipe can be positively secured to the spindle (1) by an elastic ring (16).
