The linear motor has a primary part in the form of a single or a double comb, over which runs the rectangular secondary part at a small distance from the primary part, and projecting beyond it on both sides. The massive secondary part (1) is provided with form stabilising mechanical measures preventing is deformation and curving. A further device can be used, affectin for the same purpose distribution of losses and heat in the secondary part. This is comprised of copper or aluminium plates with smooth surfaces, and pressed together in the form of a packet.
