PURPOSE:To make heat-ray reform applicable to treatment of air for combustion as an immediately effective and instantaneous highly efficient method by irradiating air for combustion with far infrared rays of wavelengths in the range of 8mum to 10mum. CONSTITUTION:A strip of heat insulator 1 is provided with a reflector 2 and an irradiator 3 on the inner side and with adhesion devices, which are attachable and detachable, on the outer side and the inner side of the heat insulator 1; such a strip is provided to the inner wall of a feed passage for air for combustion, such as a rubber duct hose, which has a high absorptivity for heat rays and is positioned at the intake of an air cleaner or between the air cleaner and the intake manifold for an internal-combustion engine. Far infrared rays of wavelengths in the range of 8mum to 20mum, emitted from the irradiator 3, cause molecules constituting the air fed to a combustion chamber to vibrate and the oxygen molecules to expand under frictional heat evolving from the molecular motion and consequently blend with fuel at an accelerated rate. As a result, the equipment can easily clear the emission standards against NOX.CO2, and the like. |
