<p>A wall mounted motor driven can opener has an operating handle (15) which is raised and lowered about a horizontal axis just above the drive wheel (13). This is mounted on a spindle (12) extending horizontally from front to rear of the casing, driven by the motor through a set of gears underneath. This handle is double armed with an extension projecting each side forming its hinge, is mounted on the vertical centre line of the housing, and terminates at the rear in a flexible part (15'') with a hooked part (15''') at the end. This fits into a slot (16) in a rib (17) inside the housing and operates a sliding switch member (19) to operate the motor. A circular part of the handle carries a magnet (20) which is held down against the top of the can.</p> |
