<p>The draw cable device is for a roller shutter support cable, esp. under a roof or cover, as used for closing the ends of delivery van superstructure etc. There is a rotatable cable drum, with a drive member transmitting rotational moment to it. A locking barrier (10) provides the rotational connection between drive member (2) and cable drum (1). This can comprise an inward serration of saw teeth extending over the whole internal periphery of the drum, and a series of locking latches in slits (8) on the drive member, with pre-tension bringing these into engagement with the teeth. Each latch may incorporate a number of saw teeth, in one piece with it, and may be fitted to a resil-resilient foamed plastic piece (11). This obviates the need for two cable drums which must have equal tension and equal cable lengths when being operated.</p> |
