Normally cases for hearing aids are made to be small and insignificant and their colours are chosen so that they do not stand out. In the present instance, a decorative feature is made of the case by constructing it of transparent material and incorporating inclusions of iridescent material. One embodiment of the hearing aid system has a case which has a topaz-like appearance, whilst another calls for a glass-clear case. The decorative case system finds particular application for hearing aids which are worn behind the ear and for spectacles incorporating hearing aids. The case may be made of plastic or glass.
