<p>1442535 Plant growth regulation using allophanimidates E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 29 Jan 1974 [30 Jan 1973] 04125/74 Addition to 1421001 Heading C1B A method for altering plant flowering or plant sexual reproduction comprises applying an allophanimidate to the plant in an amount which is effective to alter flowering or sexual reproduction of the plant without causing substantial foliar burn, chlorosis or necrosis, the allophanimidate being a compound of either of the following formulµ wherein X 1 , X 2 and X 3 are O or S, R 2 , R 3 and R 5 are specified hydrocarbon or substituted hydrocarbon radicals, and R 6 is H or C 1 -C 3 alkyl. The preferred compounds are methyl 4-(pchlorophenyl) - N - methoxycarbonylallophanimidate and methyl 4 - (p - chlorophenyl) - N - methylthiolcarbonylallophanimidate. Particular applications specified are: preventing inbreeding of maize, altering fruit set, preventing seed development and controlling pollen. Compositions in package form also are claimed.</p> |
