1514011 Strapping tools SIGNODE CORP 26 Feb 1976 [7 March 1975] 07645/76 Heading F2G A tool for tensioning a strap 30 around a package and for cutting off excess strap comprises a frame 11 having an upright portion 12 in which is mounted a pivot shaft 14, a tensioning assembly 16 being mounted thereon and including a reversible air motor 18 driving a knurled tensioning wheel 26 in the direction of arrow A to pull the upper overlapping strap portion 34 through a seal 38 whilst the lower strap portion 36 is held against a gripping block 39, a ratchet wheel 40 driven with the wheel 26 and a pawl 42 pivotally mounted on a pin 44 and engageable with the ratchet wheel 40 when rotated by the motor 18 in a direction opposite to the tensioning direction (arrow B) to actuate a cutter blade 80 to cut off the excess of the strap portion 34. |
