1513989 Toner control system for photoc o p i e r INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 6 Dec 1976 [15 Jan 1976] 50827/76 Heading B2L A toner concentration control system for a xerographic copier comprises a toner concentration sensor system, operable to sense at intervals the concentration of toner in the developer mix and to produce an output signal upon sensing a concentration below a predetermined level, a toner dispenser, operable in response to said output signal to gate toner into the developer mix, and control means responsive to the generation of said output signal during each of a predetermined number of successive sensing operations of the sensor to inhibit operation of the copier. The sensor may sense concentration once per xerographic drum cycle, and the control may inhibit operation of the copier for a fixed number of drum (copy) cycles; a counter may be activated by simultaneous input of a copy cycle signal and a signal from the sensor, and may count the number of cycles while the copier is inhibited. A suitable control circuit is described referring to Fig. 4 (not shown). |
