<p>1477356 Washing plant with water recovery circuit; wet separating FOGT INDUSTRIEMASCHINENVERTRETUNG AG 29 Aug 1974 [31 Aug 1973 3 Dec 1973] 37754/74 Headings BID and B2H [Also in Division B7] Plant for washing the drums of trucks which carry pre-mixed concrete includes a washing station 2 where water is directed into such drums and drained therefrom into one end of a first tank 1, means 7 and 14 which respectively remove stones and sand from the water passing along tank 1, means 20 conveying the water from tank 1 to one end of a tank 22, which acts as a settling tank, an endless chain scraper conveyor 26 which removes the settled cement from the floor of tank 22, and a pump 37 which returns cleaned water from tank 22 to the washing station 2. Tank 1 is semi-cylindrical with a coaxial shaft 18 which rotates and carries an outwardflow perforate drum 7, into which the water flows from the washing station and which has internal blades 8 to convey the retained stones to a wheel of perforate buckets 9 which discharge them to belt conveyor 11. Shaft 18 carries oppositely handed helical blades 13, 19 engaging the tank wall to convey settled solids to a wheel 14 carrying external buckets whose perforations retain the sand to discharge it on to belt conveyor 16. Shaft 18 also carries bucket wheel 20 to lift the water out of tank 1 and deliver it by channel 21 to tank 22. The chain conveyor 26 (Fig. 4, not shown) moves cement up the inclined end 22a of the tank for discharge at 30, and respective fixed and pivotally mounted blades (33, 36) engage and clean the conveyor blades 27. Tank 22 has transverse partitions (31) to reduce turbulence. A float valve 23 maintains the water level in tank 1 by allowing some water to bleed back from tank 22. Pump 37 and valves are controlled by push buttons at the various parking places in washing station 2 via a memory unit which ensures that trucks are washed in the order they arrive. A timer maintains shaft 18 turning in tank 1 for two or three hours after truck-washing has finished for the day and keeps conveyor 26 running in tank 22 for a further period after shaft 18 has stopped to clear both tanks of solids. Manual cock 43 and float valve 41 supply make-up water to tanks 1 and 22.</p> |
