Appts. for applying a heat sealed film cover to a thermoplastis tub comprises a small chest havng >=1 mobile wall adjustable along a chest axis to suit the size of the tub, and a pivotted, heated lid which can be closed to press a portion of film against the rim of the tub. The film is drawn from a reel mounted in the end or base of the chest. A knife runs in an integral guide to cut the film as appropriate. Appts. may be useful in food shops etc., for handling articles of a predetermined widts but variable length and depth.
