<p>A blow moulding machine in which a series of blowing nozzle mandrels move in turn through a parison injection unit, >=1 preform mould, a final mould and an ejection unit for stripping the moulding from the parison, where each mandrel is carried by a plunger which can reciprocate independently of the other plunger, when opposite the injection or the stripping units. The injection mould and the stripping tool are offset from the plane of the blow moulds. The injection mould is a single block cavity tool. The blowing moulds are split tools which part for the mandrels to pass through. Machinery motions are minimised at each stage of the cycle to transverse mandrel movements and either a mandrel reciprocation or a tool parting action, but not both together, offering up to 10% redn. in overall cycles compared with machines using split injection tools and mandrel reciprocation at split blowing tools.</p> |
