<p>A bacon slicing machine has a platform (12) behind the sloping plate which supports the meat as it is carried to and fro past the rotating cutting blade. While the meat is being cut, this platform is at the same angle as the plate and cutting blade (2, 3) and is carried to and fro level with the meat and its pushing member (6). At the end of a cutting operation, this platform (12) is swung down to a horizontal position so that the cut slices can be easily removed. When the drive motor current is cut off, a coil (14) is energised so that an arm (14) through is pushed forwards by a spring (16) to cause this tilting action.</p> |
