Azetidine compsn. for treating psoriasis - contg. 3-hydrocarbyl-sulphonyloxy-azetidine derivs. formulated e.g. as topical compsn.

Pharmaceutical compsn. contains as active ingredient an azetidine deriv. of formula (I) or its acid addn. salts. In (I) R1 is H, 3-18C alkyl, 5-15C cycloalkyl, 1- or 2-adamantyl, benzylhydryl, benzyl (opt. substd. by 2, same, OH, alkoxy or benzoyloxy), 3-(5 alpha-cholestanyl) or 3-(17-oxy-5 alpha-androstanyl. R2 is 1-18C alkyl, benzyl or tolyl. R3 and R4 are each H or 1-4C alkyl. (I) and their salts are new when R1 is 3-(5 alpha-cholestanyl) or 3-(17-3xy-5 alpha-androstanyl). Also new are the maleate and hemimaleate of 1-isopropyl3-methanesulphonyloxyazetidine (Ia). (I) are used in treating psoriasis and are formulated in conventional topical or sub-cutaneous formulations. The usual dose is 0.1-5 mg/kg/day for treating psoriasis, mycoses or vitiligo.
