Differential calorimeter to reduce thermal losses - permits easy modification of atmosphere inside and outside test and check cells

The differential calorimeter has inside a sealed container (1) a cell carrier (3). This cell carrier includes an analysing cell (6) and a check cell (7) both of which are identical. The cells are fixed by the open upper ends at the base of an annular well (8). A crown (9) extends the well towards the exterior. Sealed fixings attach the rim of the crown to the walls of the container so that two sealed compartments are formed. Inside the container is a heater which is used to heat the cells. The calorimeter has a method for detecting a differential flux between the cells. Tubes (14) connect each of the individual compartments to a device which can evacuate or inject gas into the compartments.
