What is provided is a force-measuring or weighing device having an elastic measuring element (9) which, on the one hand, is fastened to a movable part (7, 8, 10) and, on the other hand, is supported relative to the housing. The deflection of the movable part (7, 8, 10) out of its initial position is a measure of the force or mass to be determined. The movable part (7, 8, 10) carries two mirrors (4, 5), of which one is arranged in one arm and the other in the second arm of an interferometer, in such a way that, when the movable part (7, 8, 10) is deflected, the two arms of the interferometer are varied in length in opposite directions.
