1525788 Scouring pads L J SILVER 26 Nov 1976 [8 Dec 1975 7 Oct 1976] 49535/76 Heading A4F A holder 12 for a scouring pad 11 comprises a wall 21 surrounding a cavity 30 having a bottom wall 24 with a central slit 33 therethrough, a frustoconical skirt 20 surrounding the wall 21 adjacent the bottom wall 24 to define a recess to receive the pad, and projections 26 extending into the recess. In use a pad 11 is compressed and clamped to the holder by a securing member 13 having a large flat base 40, a stem 41 and flat head 42 of the member 13 being passed through the pad before the head 42 is passed through the slit 33 and turned through 90 degrees, the projections 26 preventing rotation of the pad relative to the holder. The pad 11 is desirably of woven wire or non- woven nylon, with or without grit or detergent. The holder 12 is rigid and may be of integral plastics construction. As in Figs. 5 - 9 (not shown) the skirt 20, pad 11 and perhaps wall 21 may be rectangular instead of circular. To enable a user to grip the holder the wall may have concave axial grooves 35, Fig. 2, or convex axial projections (84) Figs. 11 - 13 (not shown). |
