The installation consists of a control device (1) producing through a winding (2) time- and amplitude-variable direct current impulses to the magnet (3), with a subsequent time-amplitude- and frequency-varied alternating current impulses. The material (6) to be fractionated is pre-magnetised to saturation of the particles (7) which are to be separated. The mixture is in a cylinder (4) on an inclined support (9), in turn is connected to bracket (8). During the separation phase the material (6) is subjected to the effect of a frequency-variable alternating field, the frequency and amplitude of which is visually adjusted to optimum separation by mutual repulsion. The required fraction progresses along the wall of the cylinder (4) and drops into container (5). Useful for septg. suspension mixts. or dry power mixts. in a gas.
