The swinging axle is designed as a differential gear axle with steerable road wheels. The front axle bearing block (11) has fork shaped bearers (12) to engage a pivot part (10) fixed above the differential housing. The bearer forks and the pivot part form, together with a pivot bolt, a swinging axle bearing. A support trolley (16) consists of an open 'V' shaped frame with a jockey wheel (21) at its apex, and has bolt connection flanges (19) to fasten to the axle casing. The support trolley facilitates a driven axle exchange for a non driven axle.
