The shuttering tube for the production of an in situ concrete pile is set on a foot with a seal. A ram bar is arranged within the tube. The foot is acted on directly and simultaneously, vibrations are transmitted from the top edge onto the tube. These vibrations have a frequency of around 2000 Hz or more at am amplitude of 6 mm or less. The vibrations are produced by a hydraulic vibrator (30) or a hydraulic ram bar. The foot (12) has a flange (14) which extends axially upwards. The tube (10) engages in this flange with a seal (16).
