1289457 Two part couplings AMP Inc 19 April 1971 [14 Feb 1970] 20242/71 Heading H2E In an electrical connector unit 2, or 4 comprising an insulating housing 6 of nylon or polypropylene provided with slots 11 through which extend contacts 30 with tab portions 31, the contacts are held in position by projections 27 extending from the side wall of the housing and engaging complementary recesses 29 in the contact by virtue of the side walls being cammed apart during insertion of the contacts, after which the contacts and housing are held together by securing the housing to mounting rails 36. Alternatively the housing may be provided with mounting lugs or resilient catches for securing to a panel. The units are provided with projections 17 and an equivalent opening at the opposite end for fixing a plurality of units in line. The contacts are provided with a slot 33 to receive a resilient conducting bar to short-circuit the contacts. In another embodiment the bar is replaced by a clip. |
