<p>1513398 Recovery of gallium RHONE-POULENC INDUSTRIES 10 July 1975 [12 July 1974, 10 April 1975, 16 April 1975] 29103/75 Heading C1A Gallium is recoverable from basic solutions e.g. a sodium aluminate solution obtained in the Bayer Process, by liquid-liquid extraction with an extracting agent comprising a water insoluble substituted hydroxy quinoline, e.g. 7-(5,5,7,7-tetramethyl-1-octene-3-yl)-8-hydroxyquinoline, in water immiscible organic solvent which may be one or more unsubstituted and/or halogenated aliphatic and/or aromatic hydrocarbons. Gallium can be stripped from the loaded organic phase with HCl or HBr acids.</p> |
