1513412 Ratchet clutches; positive clutches O CORUZZI 30 June 1975 [1 July 1974; 26 March 1975] 27506/75 Heading F2C [Also in Division G5] A drive shaft 5 rotatably supports a tapereel spindle 7 having teeth 9 and is coupled thereto through a one-way clutch comprising a cup 12 freely rotatable between limits with respect to the shaft 5, a disc 10 rigid with the shaft 5 and extending between the spindle 7 and the cup 12, and a radially movable plunger 11 which is carried on the disc 10 and cooperates with the inner surface of the cup 12 which is so shaped as to push the plunger inwards into driving engagement with one of the teeth 9 on the spindle 7 in response to rotation of the shaft 5 and disc 10 with respect to the cup 12 in one direction only. The coupling includes also a friction clutch 100 which is locked against slipping during fast winding by centrifugal movement of a pin 119 carried by a leaf spring 121, Fig. 4. |
