1478487 Filter apparatus BLACK CLAWSON CO 23 Aug 1974 [27 Aug 1973] 37259/ 74 Heading B1D An apparatus for filtering a paper fibre stock comprises an outward-flow cylindrical screen 15 in which is mounted a rotor 30 comprising vanes 35 (e.g. helically curved) connected to the rotor hub by channel-shaped arms 40, the leading faces of which are angled with respect of the axis of rotation to act as propeller blades. The arms 40 are of such an extent in a direction parallel to the rotor axis, to minimise the possibility of stringy reject material folding over the arms. Thescreen may have helical ribs 50 on its inner surface. In use the suspension is introduced through tangential inlet 13, the accepts fraction is discharged through outlet 18 and the rejects fraction is discharged through chamber 23 and an outlet conduit containing a valve (not shown). The discharged rejects material may be recirculated to screen 15 via another screen. |
