The free-flowing, granular detergent and cleaning agent having a bulk density of at least 0.6 g/cm<3> and a particle size in the range of 4 - 40 meshes of the US standard sieve number and containing a fabric softener, contains core particles of an alkali metal builder salt, a non-ionic surfactant being contained in the interior and on the surfaces of these particles, and a coating of zeolite particles exchanging calcium ions, having an outermost particle size in the range 0.005 - 20 microns, further adhering to the non-ionic surfactant on the builder particle surfaces, and a waxy or solid quaternary ammonium compound as a fabric softener. The percentage contents by weight of builder salt, non-ionic surfactant, zeolite and fabric softener are within the ranges 20 - 40% by weight, 10 - 30% by weight, 30 - 60% by weight and 4 - 12% by weight. Apart from its excellent washing power, the product contains a sufficient amount of fabric softener which is able to adhere to the washing such that the finished washing is noticeably softer and more strongly antistatic than washing washed with comparison compositions not containing fabric softeners. |
