Fire barrier where pipes pass through floor - having flaps closing passage and releasing intumescent infill during fire

A fire retardant device where two pipes pass through a wall, and particularly through a horizontal floor, has a round body with a lower part projecting from the floor and an upper part let into it. A tube passes through this body and joins the two pipes, this tube is rigid at room temp. but softens under heat, the lower part of the body has devices which immediately close the through passage when the lower pipe disappears and the upper part is filled with intumescent material. Pref. the pipes are of PVC and polypropylene. Effective for large diameter pipes whether they are of metal or plastic material.
