The bayonet connector, for a light bulb, has its spring - loaded contact pins (3) held in place in its insulating base (1) by angled metal brackets (7) that also serve to clamp the supply wires. Each bracket is C-shaped and has a round hole at one end through which the supply wire passes (through on opening (5) in the base). The C-bracket is held by the screw that clamps and contacts the supply wire.
