A selector mechanism for an electromagnetically controlled programme device for a machine E.g. washing machine includes a manually operated knob which is connected to a pref. rotatable control shaft of the programme device via satellite gear wheels. Pref. the satellite gear wheels are held in a bearing ring surface on the knob and a toothed annulus connected to the control shaft. The knob can be rotated easily to produce exact adjustment of the control shaft of the programme device.
