<p>A lamp reflector and its mfr. are claimed comprising (a) a dish moulding of a cured, low profile polyester compsn. contg. glass fibre and a compatible internal mould release agent as a fatty acid ester and (b) a reflective coating on an inner surface. The reflector is used particularly in automobile headlamsp and fog lamps. It may be used with a high density bulb no fogging of the reflective film occuring at operating temps of 150-170% due to the use of the fatty acid ester lubricant in the reflector dish moulding. The moulding is free of distortion and has a high gloss. The polyester compsn is pref. catalysed by an aliphatic peroxy cpd. esp. a tert. butyl peroctoate and contains 10-25 wt. % of glass fibre. The reflective coating is pref. of Al and one or more layers of a lacquer comprising a polyester, -epoxy-, acrylic-or alkyd resin are interposed between the moulding dish and reflective coating.</p> |
