<p>An external rotary bezel mounted with a wristwatch face is positively secured by a peripheral flange trapped by arcuate clamps at each end of the watch body and rides on an annular cylindrical pad of self-lubricating material such as PTFE. The large surface contact between the bezel and the external and end faces of the solid bearing inhibits accidental rotation and, for diver's watch, penetration by sand or grit particles better than use of conventional push-fit metallic bellows springs.</p> |
