<p>1512594 15#-Ethynyl prostaglandins AMERICAN HOME PRODUCTS CORP 12 April 1976 [14 April 1975] 14792/76 Heading C2C [Also in Division C3] Novel 15#-ethynyl PGE 1 and PGE 2 and C 1-6 . alkyl esters and alkali metal and ammonium salts thereof are prepared from novel 15# ethynyl PGF 1αor PGF 2αor a bis-trimethylsilyloxy protected derivative thereof and, if a protected derivative is used, hydrolysing the product and if desired converting a compound obtained into an appropriate salt or ester. 15# - Ethynyl PGF 1αor PGF 2αare prepared by ethynylating the corresponding 15-oxo compound or a tris-trimethylsilyl derivative and hydrolysing the product obtained. The PGE 1 and PGE 2 compounds have bronchodilating and gastric-secretion reducing properties and form pharmaceutical compositions for administration orally, parenterally or by inhalation.</p> |
