Insulating and spacing the conductors of induction coils - by overlap winding with insulating and spacing tapes

Process of insulating and spacing the conductors of electric coils esp. for inductive crucible furnaces, comprises winding the conductor with an insulating tape and a spacing tape or a combination of such tapes. The insulating winding is done with overlap whilst the spacing winding is effected leaving interstices extending in axial direction of the conductor. The entire surface of the conductor(s) is reliably insulated whilst leaving spaces for the passage of liqs., vapours and gases, esp. humidity. The tapes are pref. made of glass-fibre-reinforced polyester, epoxy or silicone resin.
