A tool for sharpening the edges of metal skis has two file holders (1) each carrying two files (2a) (2b). The files (2a) (2b) are of square cross-section and fit in opposite corners of a square section tube (1) which has a slot at one corner. The slot enables the cutting surfaces of the files to work on the edges of the ski (6). The filed (2a) (2b) are wedged in the tubes (1) by a round bar (7). One of the file holders (1) has atransverse square bar (10) which fits in the square section tube (9) attached to the opposite file holder. a spring (12) compressed by a knurled nut (13) presses the files (2b) against the ski-edges. The tool is pushed along he ski by the handles (11a) (11b). Clearance between the bar (10) and tube (11) allows the tool to deflect the suit the ski-shape.
