<p>Woodchips are continuously treated with resin, in a cylinder with feed and outlet pipes at opposite ends and a central mixing shaft which runs at relatively high speed and is (partly) hollow; this mixer is fitted to draw in and move material at the feed zone and form a cylinder of mixing material. In a resinification/mixing zone it has centrifuging tubes for the resin which extend into the cylindrical mass and at the outlet end it has discharging fittings. The shaft only has the centrifuging tubes in the whole resinification and mixing zone. The appts. is simple with low power consumption and low loss of energy converted into heat. The cylinder wall can be lined with a release agent.</p> |
