Tabulator for typewriter has riders at double spacing - and a rider abutment movable through one carriage space

Tabulator for typewriter has a rail (10) supporting riders (13) whose spacing is twice that of a step of the typewriter carriage. The frame of the machine supports a rider abutment (32, 39) which is movable between two positions corresponding to one space of the carriage movement. In this way the relative position of the tabulations and the carriage steps is independent of the position of the riders on the rail. Pref. the abutment is provided on a carrier pivotal (31) from a medial position into the "one space" position.
