Plastics materials made by reacting polyisocyanates (I) opt. in the prs. of blowing agents, stabilisers and other aids, with a basic cpd. as catalyst contg. at least two aromatic nuclei and at least one araliphatically-bonded tert. amine function per molecule. - Suitable polyisocyanates (I) are, e.g., alkylene diisocyanate), arylene diisocyanates (phenylene diisocyanates, naphthalene, diisocyanates, toluene diisocyanates, diphenylethane diisocyanates, triphenylmethan triisocyanates, p-isocyanato-phenylphosphonic acid esters, etc.), or substituted derivatives of these, and esp. isocyanates made by the phosgenation of aniline-formaldehyde condensates as described in GE. appl. F 52393IVb/12o. Any suitable blowing agent may be used, esp. fluorotrichloromethylene.
