The milker support comprises means adapted to be located in a cow milking area for supporting a milking unit beneath a cow to be milked; means mounting the supporting means for movement to permit a milking unit to be progressively lowered during the milking of a cow. Means is associated with one of the mounting means and the supporting means for moving the supporting means downwardly. Control means for the moving means allows the moving means to progressively lower the supporting means throughout the milking operation to adjust the position of the milking unit thereon to compensate for decreasing tautness in a cow's udder as a cow is milked out. Optimum tug and pull of the milker unit is achieved throughout a milking operation, whereby the supporting means can be moved upwardly to condition the milker support for a subsequent operation.
