<p>The concrete reinforcing bars are made from initially round bars. The round bar is reduced in dia. and transverse, inclined short ribs are formed. Longitudinal, wavy continuous ribs are formed between short ribs to assist adherence to the concrete. The longitudinal ribs (5, 6) can be sinusoidal or sawtooth shaped. The short transverse and the wavy longitudinal ribs project to the same extent from the rod surface. The two rolls used have edge profile for making diametrically opposite longitudinal ribs by roll edges. The transverse short ribs are formed by roll surface profiles.</p> |
