<p>A felled tree is longitudinally conveyed on the machine with its root end facing a de-branching station. During the feeding, the branches and twigs are pressed against the trunk. After the pressing, the branches are cut off close to the trunk. The cut-off branches and twigs together with the tree tip are fed to a chopper while the de-branched trunk is carried on for further handling. The shavings and needles which fall in the chopper are separated and separately prepared. A forestry vehicle to effect this has a motor-driven feed device which acts with the de-branching device.</p> |
