The tyre pressure warning device gives an indication to the driver of a vehicle when the pressure falls below a critical value. A tube (4) connects the tyre to a pressure sensing element such as a diaphragm or a piston (2), which either alone or in conjunction with a return spring (7) provides an indication of tyre pressure by virtue of its position. The sensing element is coupled to a lever arrangement (11-13) carrying an electrical contact brush (12) which may be of copper. At a critical tyre pressure, the movement of the piston (6) transmitted to the lever is sufficient to bring the brush into contact with a plate (15) on the brake mounting, completing an electrical circuit and causing an indicator lamp in the driver's cab to light up.
