<p>The impact tool adapter with adjustable torque is for use with flexible shafts and screwdrivers, socket spanners etc. It works in both directions, comprising two coaxial bodies with mating serrated end faces held together by an adjustable spring (9). As the nut etc. is tightened to a specific torque, the bodies are thrust apart, the serrations riding over each other for one tooth at a time as they do so. This releases the torsion in the flexible shaft, causing each tooth flank on one body to strike against the side of the serration as it drops into the next recess, exerting an impact torque on it in the process.</p> |
